Managed print services (MPS) is the active management and optimisation of document output devices and related business processes. Over the years, the print sector has witnessed a transition from a transaction oriented approach which was typically reactive, towards a proactive service and solutions driven approach.
MPS involves analysing and recommending the optimal user to device ratio, fleet and environmental management, help desk and preventive maintenance and break-fix services, in addition to managing work flow and document processes by deploying the appropriate software solutions.
A critical part of the process is careful and proactive management of the workplace culture change during the transition and implementation of MPS, through formal pre-MPS assessments, adequate training and result monitoring throughout and following implementation.
